Like many people I am enchanted by the beauty, mystery and magic of hares. I have represented them in many ways, but here is a series of sculpted hares that I have made over several years. All are made of a fired clay through which paper fibres are mixed, lending them a light and lively texture through which I try to capture something of their essence.

Not without irony, since moving to the edge of Exmoor in 2022 - a place allegedly teeming with hares, I have not seen a single one……
